Be Like Slinky

Human beings have demonstrated a relentless ability to adapt to new environments and situations. As the human species spread to different places on the Pangaea Supercontinent, they faced new conditions and evolved. In areas where there were scarce resources, a sub-species of humanoid evolved to grow to only a third of the size that we see among Homo Sapiens.

Charles Darwin said that survival of the fittest was greatly determined by the ability to adapt and change. We live in a world where our ecology, technology, sociology, biology and neurology is changing at rates that are unprecedented in human or natural history. For example, over the past 15 years, the attention span of an average adult has reduced from 4 minutes to 2 minutes. What this represents neurologically is a dramatic reduction in the cognitive load that has taken place over half a generation. Our brains have adapted to cope with the high volumes of content by reducing the depth that we devote to information. Fascinating.

The ability to adapt and change works a bit like a muscle. The more you work with and bounce back from the chaos – he better you are a doing it and the stronger you are braced when it comes to dealing with the next wave of change.

The anticipation and adaption of changing markets, lifestyle-driven changes to buyer requirements, changes to work, the breakdown of extended families, preferences for smart technologies in a home – they all impact demand and the property as a singular aspect of the economy.

A constant evolutionary pulse check is the bloodline of our business.
